23.Feb.2010 Congo Tardis #1 presents Edits #1
We are so excited to have the one and only Congo Tardis #1 as our very first headline act at the launch on Friday, and to make the night even more special Congo Tardis have gone and dropped there debut compilation CD “Edits #1″ with support from Northside Records and ourselves, Ay Caramba!
The proud presenters of tropical club music, Congo Tardis #1 crew digs into the their record collections and produces some clean, healthy and uplifting jams on this compilation to finish off the Melbourne summer with a bang.
A favorite dancehall riddem from CT#1 gets a big refix from Ms Butt, and in the process claiming it as an Aussie anthem. Lewis CanCut explores a congo disco great from the crates, and whips up a dubby disco jam of niceness. The Pharoah adds a little cut, duplicate and paste to an Ivory Coast / French jammer, aptly named Paris Tropical.
The big bonus comes from long time Congo Tardis friend Harmon, who drops a unique world edit (but is actually an original composition). Somewhere between afro beat and disco, inspired by a session at Revolver DJing between Ms Butt and Paz.
Northside Records is our affiliate for the hard copy CD version. NR is Melbourne’s staple for finding the rarities that don’t find their way onto beatport. Ask the guys for a promo copy.
We are helping CT#1 launch there product on at the launch night of Ay Caramba! on Friday 26th of February. Free versions of the CD are available to the first 20 people of the Congo Tardis conga line. Participation is a must. For those who are happy with a 320 MP3 check out the links via the CT#1 soundcloud page or right here.
